Hook Norton Brewery
Hook Norton Brewery is passionate family business that has been brewing beer in Oxfordshire for 6 generations. The history of the brewery and brewing starts from 1849, when John Harris purchased Hook Norton farm of 52 acres, now Hook Norton is one of only 32 family owned breweries.
Sitting in its beautiful, mellow Cotswold Hills landscape, Hook Norton is a proudly independent and passionate family business that takes the very best of its handcrafted brewing heritage and combines it with a thoroughly modern approach, to create a range of real ales for today’s drinkers to enjoy.
Hook Norton Brewery is incredibly proud to be one of three breweries, bringing tradition into the present day by continuing to deliver ales by horse drawn dray. These wonderful ‘workhorses’ have been an integral part of brewery life since its founding day back in 1849 and for many, many years were the reliable backbone of its delivery system.
Don’t forget to book a Brewery Tour with a personal tour guide who will take you up, down and around 5-storey Victorian Tower Brewery where you will experience the sights, sounds and smells of brewing. The tour takes approximately 1 ½ hours and ends with a tutored tasting in cellar bar.
Hook Norton Brewery is the finest example of a Victorian Tower Brewery in the country. Here you will find a shop, Malthouse Kitchen Cafe, free museum and meeting rooms.
