Denbies is the largest privately owned vineyard in England, with it’s 265 acres of vines, planted on the sunny south-facing slopes of a sheltered valley.

The chalky soil and the warm, dry microclimate in this area similar to Champagne region of France, are ideal for wine production.

Estate is a commercial operation, centring on a busy restaurant and a gift store where visitors can buy the wines, it is also home to the independent Surrey Hills Brewery.

Denbies currently is the largest vineyard offering tours, that lead through the winery, explaining the process, with tastings at the end. Even nicer , especially on a sunny summer’s day, it to ride the little “train” through the vineyards, which are part of much larger estate, dipping in and out of beautiful woodland.
